Toyota Mirai JPD20 (2nd Generation)

20212026 · JPD20 · sedan

Second-generation Mirai moved from the front-drive Prius-based first-gen to the rear-drive TNGA-L platform shared with the Lexus LS/Crown. 182 hp from a hydrogen fuel cell driving the rear axle; ~400 mi EPA range. US sales restricted to California due to H2 refueling infrastructure.

Watch out: Hydrogen refueling station availability is the entire ownership story — limited to California, stations are often down or out of fuel. Resale values have collapsed as buyers price in fuel-access risk. Mechanical reliability of the fuel-cell stack itself has been solid.
