Tesla Model 3 Highland Refresh
2024–2025 · sedan
The 'Highland' refresh (project name; Tesla never officially generations it) launched in the US in early 2024 after debuting in China and Europe in late 2023. Major changes: redesigned front and rear fascia, acoustic glass and better sound deadening (the car is genuinely quieter), retuned suspension, ventilated front seats, an 8-inch rear-passenger touchscreen, and the controversial removal of the turn-signal and gear-selector stalks (replaced by capacitive steering-wheel buttons and a touchscreen gear selector). RWD and Long Range AWD at launch; Performance variant added late 2024.
Watch out: Stalkless steering — the capacitive turn-signal buttons are unintuitive in roundabouts and U-turns where the wheel is turned past 180 degrees, and there is no fallback mechanism. Multiple owner-reported safety complaints. Tesla now sells an official retrofit stalk kit (~$595 US), and the 2025 Model Y Juniper restored the stalk — but the standard Highland still ships without.
Full clubhouse — owner Garage Lineage, common problems, year-by-year notes, and product picks — is on the build list.
