Subaru SVX Single Generation (CXW)
1992–1997 · CXW · coupe
The SVX was Subaru's grand-touring coupe with Giugiaro styling and the famous half-window glass design (lower section pops open, upper section is fixed). Power came from the EG33 3.3L flat-six (around 230 hp) driving a four-speed automatic (no manual was offered in the US). Sold from 1992 through 1997 in modest US numbers and now firmly a cult car.
Watch out: Owner reports of the 4EAT automatic transmission failing under heavy use (the most common reason these are off the road), aging EG33 head-gasket service, and rare/expensive parts (interior trim, the unique glass) when something breaks. Surviving examples often need full suspension refresh.
