Subaru Impreza 3rd Generation (GE/GH non-WRX)
2008–2011 · GE/GH · sedan
The third-gen non-WRX Impreza came as sedan (GE) and four-door hatch (GH) with the EJ253 2.5L naturally aspirated flat-four. AWD standard. Trims included 2.5i, 2.5i Premium, and the Outback Sport hatchback. The WRX shared this chassis on its own bodywork (covered in the WRX guide). The GR/GV chassis codes belong to the widebody WRX/STI, not the non-WRX Impreza.
Watch out: Owner reports of EJ253 head-gasket external coolant weeping at high mileage (this is the same Subaru naturally aspirated 2.5L head-gasket pattern from earlier generations), oil consumption on later units (the FB-engine class action covers FB25/FB20, not the EJ253), and worn front strut mounts.
