Subaru Impreza 5th Generation (GK/GT)

The fifth-gen Impreza was the first model launched on the Subaru Global Platform (SGP) and arrived as a sedan (GK) and hatch (GT) with the FB20 2.0L naturally aspirated flat-four. Lineartronic CVT was standard; a five-speed manual was available on lower trims. EyeSight driver assistance became widely available across the run. AWD standard.
Watch out: Owner reports of FB20 oil consumption persisting on early 5th-gen units (the 2016 class-action settlement covered earlier model years; later cars are not always covered, so verify by VIN). Some owners report Starlink infotainment quirks and worn CVT mounts on higher-mileage cars.
