The Ascent is Subaru's first three-row SUV since the discontinued Tribeca. Subaru Global Platform, FA24 2.4L turbo flat-four (260 hp) — the only engine — paired with a Lineartronic CVT and standard symmetrical AWD. Seats 7 or 8 depending on second-row config. EyeSight standard. Mid-cycle refresh for 2023 brought the 11.6-inch portrait infotainment.
Watch out: NHTSA recall on early-build (~2019 MY) Ascents covered welding spots on the B-pillar — verify completion. Owner reports of FA24 oil-consumption issues, though less broadly than the FB-series. Verify any extended-coverage TSBs.
