Ram 2500/3500 Heavy Duty DT (5th Generation HD)

Redesigned for 2019 alongside the DT 1500. Engines: 6.4L HEMI V8 (410hp) standard, plus three Cummins 6.7L turbodiesel inline-six tunes — Standard Output (370hp/850 lb-ft), High Output (400hp/1,000 lb-ft), and from 2021 the 3500 HO at 420hp/1,075 lb-ft (the highest torque rating of any production pickup). Massive interior tech overhaul including the 12-inch portrait touchscreen. Chassis-cab 4500/5500 variants continue.

Watch out: Bosch CP4.2 high-pressure fuel pump failure on Cummins-equipped trucks — when the CP4 fails, it sends metal debris through the entire fuel system, requiring a $10-15k repair (injectors, lines, tank, pump). A class-action settlement covered some affected trucks. HEMI 6.4L cars share the family-wide MDS lifter failure. Aftermarket S&S CP3 conversion kits are common owner upgrades on diesel trucks.
