Ram 2500/3500 Heavy Duty DJ (4th Generation HD)

DJ/D2 chassis HD pickups added to the Ram lineup for 2010 (alongside the DS 1500). Engines: 5.7L HEMI V8 (383hp) on 2500, 6.4L HEMI V8 (410hp) on 2500/3500 from 2014, and the Cummins 6.7L turbodiesel inline-six (350-385hp, 800-930 lb-ft of torque depending on year). The 2013+ Cummins 6.7L upgraded to 850 lb-ft and eventually 930 lb-ft. Solid front axle on all models. Chassis cab variants (4500/5500) extended the range up to 19,500-lb GVWR.

Watch out: Cummins 6.7L emissions hardware — the EGR cooler, DPF, DEF system, and Bosch CP3 (and later CP4) high-pressure fuel pump are all documented failure points. The CP4 pump failure (2019+ trucks) can grenade and contaminate the entire fuel system; CP3 trucks (2010-2018) are the smarter buy for the long haul. HEMI trucks share the family-wide MDS lifter risk.
