First-gen NX shared its platform with the RAV4 XA40. NX 200t / NX 300 used the 2.0L 8AR-FTS turbo four with a 6-speed automatic; NX 300h used the 2.5L 2AR-FXE hybrid with E-CVT. Aggressive Lexus styling and big-volume entry into the compact luxury crossover segment. F-Sport package was the styling-and-suspension upgrade most buyers chose.

Watch out: Owner reports of 8AR-FTS turbocharger wastegate-rattle in early units (Lexus addressed in later production), and remote-touch trackpad ergonomics — same complaint as elsewhere in the Lexus lineup of the era.
