Third-gen GX (GX 550) moves to the TNGA-F platform shared with the new Tacoma, Tundra, Sequoia, and Land Cruiser (J250). 3.4L V35A-FTS twin-turbo V6 (~349 hp), 10-speed automatic, full-time 4WD. The Overtrail trim with locking rear diff and 33-inch tires repositioned the GX as a serious off-road luxury option.

Watch out: Owner reports of early-build infotainment glitches and Multi-Terrain Monitor camera calibration quirks. Long-term reliability data is still building — this generation is too new for high-mile patterns.
