Lexus ES XV10 (2nd Generation, ES 300)

The XV10 fixed everything that made the first ES feel like a re-trimmed Camry. New rounded styling, smoother 1MZ-FE 3.0L V6, and a more cohesive interior helped the ES become the best-selling Lexus model. The platform is shared with the XV10 Camry, which makes parts cheap and abundant for surviving cars.

Watch out: Owner reports of 1MZ-FE timing belt service overdue (interval roughly every 90k miles), worn front struts, sagging headliners, and clear-coat failure on hoods and roofs. Power-window regulators and AC blower resistors are common wear items.
