Fourth-gen Sportage adopted a fighter-jet-inspired front with stacked quad-projector headlamps. US lineup: 2.4L Theta II GDI (181 hp) standard, 2.0L Theta II turbo (240 hp) on the SX Turbo. AWD optional throughout. A 2020 facelift restyled the front. Built in Korea at Gwangju for US-market cars.

Watch out: REAL ISSUE: 2017-2018 Sportages with 2.0T and 2.4L Theta II engines are included in the rod-bearing failure recall pattern and the engine compartment fire risk recalls (NHTSA campaigns 20V-754 and follow-ons). Check VIN. 2019-2022 cars are mostly past the worst recall window but still benefit from a check.
