Kia Sorento MQ4 (4th Generation)

Fourth-gen Sorento moved to Hyundai-Kia's N3 platform with a more upright three-row body. US lineup: 2.5L Smartstream GDI (191 hp), 2.5L Smartstream turbo (281 hp), 1.6L turbo hybrid (227 hp combined), and 1.6L turbo PHEV (261 hp combined). Three rows standard, which distinguishes it from the two-row Hyundai Santa Fe of the same era. X-Line and X-Pro trims add off-road-styled hardware. Built in West Point, Georgia.

Watch out: Smartstream is post-Theta and has so far stayed clear of the catastrophic recall pattern. Early-build 2021 cars had a few infotainment glitches and one wiring-harness recall. The 2.5T paired with an 8-speed wet DCT has documented low-speed clunking; conventional automatic was used elsewhere in the lineup.
