Kia Rio YB (4th Generation)

Fourth-gen Rio was Kia's last subcompact in America, alongside the Hyundai Accent. US-spec ran the 1.6L Gamma MPI (130 hp) with a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic, later CVT for 2020+. Sedan and 5-door hatchback at launch; hatchback dropped from the US after 2020. Built in Pesqueria, Mexico. Discontinued in December 2023.

Watch out: The 1.6L Gamma MPI is not part of the catastrophic Theta II recall pattern, which is a relief at this price point. The real watch-out is that Kia exited the segment and aftermarket support is shrinking. Strong used-market value, weak service-network depth.
