Kia Carnival KA4 (4th Generation, post-Sedona rename)

Kia renamed the US Sedona to Carnival for 2022 to align with the global name. Markets it as a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) with SUV-aspirational styling but it is still a minivan underneath. Single powertrain at US launch: 3.5L Smartstream GDI V6 (290 hp) with 8-speed automatic, FWD only. Hybrid 1.6T (242 hp combined) added for 2025 facelift. Up to 8-passenger, with optional VIP second-row reclining captain's chairs.

Watch out: Smartstream V6 has sidestepped the catastrophic Theta II recall pattern. Early-build 2022 cars had some sliding-door motor and infotainment software complaints addressed under warranty. The VIP second-row package eats third-row practicality; test-fit your real-world cargo before committing.
