Jeep Wagoneer WS (Modern Revival)

20222026 · WS · suv

Body-on-frame construction on the Ram 1500 platform, built at Warren Truck Assembly in Michigan. Initial engines: 5.7L HEMI V8 eTorque (Wagoneer) and 6.4L HEMI V8 (Grand Wagoneer); both replaced by the 3.0L Hurricane twin-turbo inline-six from 2023-2025 (high-output 510hp in Grand Wagoneer trim). Launched as 'Wagoneer by Jeep' with no Jeep badge on the vehicle — that was reversed by 2024. The Grand Wagoneer earned an IIHS Top Safety Pick award.

Watch out: NHTSA opened a preliminary investigation in late 2024 covering reports of the Hurricane twin-turbo I6 shutting off unexpectedly while driving — engine stall under load, mostly cold-start scenarios. 100,000+ unsold units sat at dealers through 2024. The 5.7L HEMI eTorque variants share the family-wide MDS lifter risk; the standard Wagoneer trim is being discontinued after 2025.

Full clubhouse — owner Garage Lineage, common problems, year-by-year notes, and product picks — is on the build list.
