Hyundai Veloster JS (2nd Generation)
2019–2022 · JS · hatchback
Second-gen Veloster carried the signature asymmetric three-doors-plus-one layout into the modern Hyundai lineup. Base trims used the 2.0L Nu MPI (147 hp); Turbo trims used the 1.6L Gamma turbo (201 hp). The Veloster N, launched for 2019 with the 2.0L Theta II turbo (250 hp standard, 275 hp with Performance Package), became Hyundai's first N-badged car in the US. Manual transmission standard; 8-speed wet DCT added for 2020 on the N. Discontinued for the US after the 2022 model year.
Watch out: REAL ISSUE: Theta II 2.0T in the Veloster N inherits the Theta family rod-bearing concerns. The N is tuned harder and revved higher than the average Theta application, so oil discipline and any track time should be paired with extra-cautious maintenance records.
Full clubhouse — owner Garage Lineage, common problems, year-by-year notes, and product picks — is on the build list.
