Hyundai Ioniq 5 NE (1st Generation)

20222026 · NE · hatchback

First Hyundai built on the E-GMP dedicated EV platform with 800-volt architecture supporting 350 kW DC fast charging (10 to 80 percent in 18 minutes on a 350 kW charger). US battery options are 58 kWh standard range and 77.4 kWh (later 84 kWh) long range. Single-motor RWD or dual-motor AWD. The Ioniq 5 N performance variant launched 2024 with 601 hp (641 on N Grin Boost). Designed by SangYup Lee with nods to the 1974 Pony Coupe concept.

Watch out: REAL ISSUE: The ICCU (Integrated Charging Control Unit) failure recall (NHTSA campaign 24V-191 and follow-on campaigns) affected many 2022-2024 Ioniq 5 cars, causing 12V battery drain and stranded vehicles. Verify the ICCU has been replaced (not just reflashed). Charging-port lock motor failures also documented.

Full clubhouse — owner Garage Lineage, common problems, year-by-year notes, and product picks — is on the build list.
