Hyundai Accent HC (5th Generation, US-spec)

2018–2022 · HC · sedan

Fifth-generation Accent for North America (HC chassis; the hatchback YC version was not sold in the US). US-spec ran the 1.6L Gamma MPI (130 hp) with a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic. Discontinued after 2022 as Hyundai exited the US subcompact-sedan segment along with Honda and Toyota. Built at Hyundai's Mexico plant in Nuevo Leon.

Watch out: The 1.6L Gamma MPI is not part of the catastrophic Theta II recall pattern, which is good news. The real watch-out is that it is the entry-level car Hyundai walked away from, so dealer service expertise and aftermarket support are thinning.
