The 2nd-gen Ridgeline shares 73 percent of components with the 3rd-gen Pilot. J35Y6 3.5L V6 (later J35Y8), initially 6-speed automatic and later 9-speed and 10-speed depending on year. i-VTM4 torque-vectoring AWD. Dual-action tailgate and lockable in-bed trunk are still here. North American Car of the Year for 2017. The truck nobody asks for but everybody who buys one loves.

Watch out: Early 9-speed automatic shares the harsh-shift complaints of the 2016-2018 Pilot; software updates resolved most. The VCM-equipped J35 still carries the documented oil-consumption profile through the early years of this generation.
