Honda Odyssey 5th Generation

The 5th-gen Odyssey launched 2018 with the J35Y6 3.5L V6, direct-injected, VCM standard. 9-speed automatic on lower trims, 10-speed on Touring/Elite (Honda's first 10-speed in production). Magic Slide second-row seats let the middle seats slide inboard and outboard. CabinWatch and CabinTalk on higher trims. Built in Lincoln, Alabama.
Watch out: 9-speed automatic on early cars drew complaints for harsh and hesitant shifts; software updates and a 2021 refresh helped. VCM oil-consumption pattern continues from the prior generation. The 10-speed has held up better in long-term forum reporting.
