Honda Civic 8th Generation

2006–2011 · FA/FG · sedan

The 8th-gen Civic launched 2006 with the two-tier dashboard and a major styling reset. R18A1 1.8L naturally aspirated I4 on most trims, K20Z3 2.0L on the Si. Sedan (FA1/FA5) and coupe (FG1/FG2) sold in the US; no hatchback. Hybrid trim used a 1.3L IMA setup that is widely remembered for early battery degradation.

Watch out: Hybrid IMA battery failure on 2009-2010 cars is the headline issue; Consumer Reports recorded over 30% of owners reporting a battery replacement. Non-hybrid cars are far more durable.
