Honda Accord 8th Generation

20082012 · CP/CS · sedan

Eighth-gen Accord ran 2008 through 2012, grown into a full-size sedan by EPA classification. I4 sedan is chassis CP2, V6 sedan is CP3; coupes are CS1 (I4) and CS2 (V6). I4 cars used the K24Z2/K24Z3 (177-190 hp). V6 cars used the J35Z2/J35Z3 (268-271 hp) with Variable Cylinder Management (VCM).

Watch out: Two issues dominate: VCM on the V6 cars is associated with oil consumption and spark plug fouling (owner-installed VCMuzzler-style disable devices are common), and the 2008-2010 cars were subject to a class-action settlement over premature rear brake wear, sometimes requiring pads and rotors every 15,000-20,000 miles.
