GMC Sierra 1500 GMT900 (3rd Generation)
2007–2013 · GMT900 · truck
Third-generation Sierra 1500 on the GMT900 platform — mechanical twin to the contemporary Chevy Silverado 1500 with GMC-specific styling and the Denali trim. Engines: 4.8L LY2 V8, 5.3L LMG/LC9 Vortec V8 (AFM), 6.0L L76/L77, 6.2L L9H V8 in Denali. 6-speed automatic on most builds.
Watch out: 5.3L V8 AFM lifter failure is the defining issue across the GMT900 family — collapsed lifter destroys a cam lobe; $3,000-$5,000 repair. Disabling AFM via tune + new lifters is the standard preventive.
