Compact crossover SUV on the Ford C2 platform — same platform as the Escape, Maverick, and Focus. Distinct from the body-on-frame 6th-gen Bronco. 1.5L EcoBoost I3 (181hp) on Base/Big Bend/Outer Banks; 2.0L EcoBoost I4 (250hp) on Badlands and First Edition. 8-speed automatic, standard AWD. Badlands trim adds a twin-clutch rear differential, off-road suspension, and steel skid plates.

Watch out: 1.5L EcoBoost fuel-injector cracking is the headline issue — NHTSA recall 25V-467 (Ford ref 25S76) expands earlier 22V-859 and covers 2021-2024 Bronco Sport (and 2020-2022 Escape) for cracked injectors that can leak fuel onto a hot engine and start an underhood fire. Affected VINs get an updated injector and a software patch; check the VIN before buying used.
