Chrysler Pacifica RU (Modern Pacifica)

2017–2026 · RU · minivan

Built on the Chrysler RU platform at the Windsor Assembly Plant in Ontario. Engines: 3.6L Pentastar V6 (287hp) on gas models and a plug-in-hybrid 3.6L V6 + dual electric motors with a 16 kWh battery and 32-33 miles of EV range. The hybrid is the autonomous-vehicle platform Waymo built its early robotaxi fleet on. AWD became available on gas models from 2021.

Watch out: Hybrid 12V battery and HV control issues on early 2017-2018 Pacifica Hybrids — multiple NHTSA recalls including 18V-339 (fire risk) and follow-up battery-pack campaigns. Stop-start glitches and dead-vehicle no-start conditions were widespread. Gas-only models are less drama but share the 3.6L Pentastar's rocker arm story on early production.
