Chevrolet Tahoe GMT800 (2nd Generation Tahoe)

The GMT800 Tahoe launched for 2000 as a four-door-only full-size SUV (the two-door was dropped) on GM's new GMT800 platform. Engines were the 4.8L LR4 V8 and 5.3L LM7 V8, both Gen III iron-block small-blocks (LS family). No Active Fuel Management in this generation. 4L60E (later 4L65E) automatic. Z71 off-road package available. Replaced by the GMT900 Tahoe for 2007.

Watch out: Owner reports of intake manifold gasket and lower intake leaks on the 5.3L LM7, instrument-cluster gauge failures (a widely reported issue across GMT800-era GM trucks), and 4L60E transmission wear are well-documented.
