Tenth-generation Suburban on the GMT900 platform (sibling to Tahoe / Yukon XL / Cadillac Escalade ESV). 5.3L V8 standard, 6.0L L96 / 6.2L L94 V8s on heavier-duty trims. Two-mode hybrid 5.3L offered 2008-2013.

Watch out: AFM lifter failure on the 5.3L V8 is the GM-wide late-2000s issue — collapsed lifter takes out a cam lobe; repair runs $3,000-$5,000.
