Chevrolet Suburban GMT800 (9th Generation)

20002006 · GMT800 · suv

The GMT800 Suburban launched for 2000 on GM's GMT800 platform. 1500-series engines included the 5.3L LM7 V8 (the volume engine); 2500-series offered the 6.0L LQ4 V8 and the 8.1L L18 Vortec 8100 big-block (replacing the older 7.4L). All gas engines were Gen III small/big-block (LS-era). No AFM on this generation. Replaced by the GMT900 Suburban for 2007.

Watch out: Owner reports of instrument-cluster gauge failures (a widespread GMT800-era issue), intake manifold gasket leaks on the 5.3L LM7, and 4L60E/4L65E transmission wear are well-documented.
