Chevrolet Malibu 9th Generation
2016–2025 · E2XX · sedan
Ninth-generation Malibu on GM's E2XX platform. 1.5L LFV turbocharged I4 (160 hp) base, 2.0L LTG turbo I4 (250 hp, 2016-2018 only), 1.8L LKQ hybrid system (182 hp combined, 2016-2019). 6-speed automatic (1.5L), 8-speed 8L45 (2.0L), CVT on later 1.5L. Chevrolet's last sedan; final unit November 2024.
Watch out: 1.5L LFV turbo oil consumption and CVT durability on 2020+ FWD trims are the recurring complaints. 2.0L LTG 8-speed 8L45 shudder TSB applies on early builds (same family as the Equinox / Traverse issue).
