BMW X6 F16 (2nd Generation)

The F16 X6 is the second-generation X6, on sale from 2015 through 2019 on the F15 X5 platform. US powertrains include the N55 turbocharged inline-six (xDrive35i) and the N63TU (Technical Update) twin-turbo V8 (xDrive50i), with the S63 in the X6 M (F86).

Watch out: N63 V8 issues carry through the F16 era. Owner reports of valve stem seal smoke, oil consumption and high cost of repair on N63TU cars persist, though BMW addressed several items in successive engine updates. Electric water pump and oil filter housing gasket life are routine for both engines.
