Third-gen X5. N20 turbo-4 (sDrive35i late in the run), N55 turbo-6 (xDrive35i), N63TU V8 (xDrive50i), M57/N57 diesel (xDrive35d). xDrive40e plug-in hybrid debuted on the F15 — the first BMW PHEV SUV in the US. X5 M (F85) uses the S63 V8.

Watch out: N63TU V8 carries forward the same chain-guide and oil-consumption story as earlier N63 cars, somewhat improved. BMW's 'Customer Care Package' may still apply on specific year-and-VIN combinations. Air suspension on optioned cars develops compressor failures around 100k.
