BMW X4 F26 (1st Generation)

The F26 X4 is the first-generation BMW X4, a coupé-SUV variant of the F25 X3 platform. It launched for the 2015 model year and was replaced by the G02 X4 for 2019. Powertrains include the N20 turbocharged four (xDrive28i), N55 turbocharged six (xDrive35i) and S55 turbocharged six in the X4 M40i.

Watch out: N20 timing chain guide wear on earlier units is a common concern. Owner reports of electric water pump and oil filter housing gasket failures are routine across this BMW era and apply to both N20 and N55 cars.
