BMW M2 F87 (1st Generation)
2016–2021 · F87 · coupe
Smallest, lightest modern M car of its era. Original M2 used the N55 turbo-6; the 2018+ M2 Competition switched to a detuned S55 from the M3/M4. M2 CS (2020-2021) is the send-off — 444 hp, lighter, carbon parts, and an instant collectible. RWD only, manual or DCT.
Watch out: N55 cars: charge pipe failure (same plastic-part problem as the M4). Competition / CS with S55: same rod-bearing inspection conversation as the F80/F82. All F87s: clutch life is short with launch-control abuse.
