Current 3 Series generation. B46 (2.0L turbo I4) on the 330i and B58 (3.0L turbo I6) on the M340i. Larger iDrive 7 screen, then iDrive 8 from the 2023 LCI. Steering feel walked back from the F30 nadir. The M340i is the value-performance buy.

Watch out: iDrive 7 head units (pre-2023) lock up and brick on a chunk of cars; the LCI 8 fixes most of it but adds touch-only HVAC.
