Bentley Bentayga 1st Generation
2017–2026 · suv
Bentley's first-ever SUV, on the VW Group MLB Evo platform shared with Porsche Cayenne, Lamborghini Urus, and Audi Q7/Q8. Initial 6.0L W12 (600 hp); 4.0L V8 added 2018; plug-in hybrid V6 from 2018; diesel offered briefly. Facelifted in 2020 with the EWB long-wheelbase variant following. Air suspension, three rows optional, full Bentley interior treatment.
Watch out: Air-suspension failures (compressor and bags) are common past 60k miles — shared issue across the MLB Evo platform. W12 cars share the cost-of-service profile of the Continental GT W12. PHEV variants add high-voltage battery service to the long-term ownership picture. Brake rotor and tire wear are heavy on a 5,000+ lb vehicle.
