Audi S3 8V (3rd Generation US)

20152020 · 8V · sedan

The first US-market S3. EA888 Gen 3 2.0T (CYFB) — 292 hp / 280 lb-ft. Quattro AWD with Haldex rear coupling. 6-speed DSG (later upgraded to 7-speed during the run). Sedan body only for the US. The S3 8V is often called the best-value performance Audi of its era — A3 chassis with serious dynamics.

Watch out: EA888 Gen 3: PCV valve diaphragms tear (causes lean codes), water pump and thermostat housing leak around 60-80k, timing chain tensioners on neglected cars. DSG: fluid every 40k regardless of Audi's longer suggestion. Haldex rear differential needs a fluid + filter service Audi doesn't widely advertise.
