Audi RS5 B9 (2nd Generation)

20182024 · B9 · coupe

The B9 RS5 launched in the US for the 2018 model year, replacing the naturally aspirated 4.2 V8 with a new twin-turbocharged 2.9 TFSI V6 (DECA family, co-developed with Porsche and shared with the Panamera 4S). Output is 444 hp paired with a ZF 8-speed automatic and quattro. US body styles include coupe and Sportback.

Watch out: Too new for a settled long-term failure picture. Owner reports across the 2.9 TFSI family include carbon buildup on intake valves (direct injection), turbocharger oil-line concerns and water pump life. Carbon ceramic brake pad and rotor wear costs (on optional CCB-equipped cars) are a routine ownership consideration.
