2012–2018 · C7 · liftback

First Audi A7 — five-door fastback (liftback) sister to the C7 A6 sedan. 3.0T supercharged V6 (CGWB / CTUA) was the volume engine. 3.0 TDI diesel impacted by Dieselgate. 4.0T biturbo V8 in S7 (420 hp) and RS7 (560 hp, later 605 in Performance trim). Considered one of the cleanest-looking sedan-class cars of the decade.

Watch out: 3.0T supercharged: water pump failure (engine-out repair if you want to do it right), supercharger snout bearing wear. 4.0T V8 (S7/RS7): timing chain stretch, PCV diaphragm, COD lifter wear. TDI cars: emissions software updates and Dieselgate-era recall history mandatory check.
