Audi A4 B6 (2nd Generation)

The B6 A4 is the second-generation Audi A4, on sale in the US from 2002 through 2005. Body styles include sedan, Avant wagon and cabriolet. Engines include the AMB / AWM 1.8T turbocharged four (K03 turbo, 170 hp US) and the 3.0 V6, with the BBK 4.2 V8 in the S4. The multitronic CVT was introduced for front-wheel-drive cars.

Watch out: 1.8T oil sludge from extended oil change intervals is the headline B6 issue and is covered by the Audi/VW oil sludge settlement extending warranty on affected cars. Owner reports of multitronic CVT failures, control arm wear (the 'eight-bow' front suspension), and timing belt service criticality (interference engine) are routine.
