Alfa Romeo Giulia Type 952
2017–2026 · 952 · sedan
Built on the FCA Giorgio platform — a longitudinal-engine, RWD architecture developed specifically for Alfa, also under the Stelvio. Engines: 2.0L turbo I4 (280hp in Veloce), 2.2L Multijet diesel (Europe), and the Quadrifoglio's 2.9L 690T twin-turbo V6 (505hp US, 540hp in the limited GTA/GTAm) — developed by Ferrari, an F154 V8 with two cylinders chopped off. Q4 AWD is optional on the 2.0; Quadrifoglio is RWD only. Production at Cassino, Italy.
Watch out: Electronic gremlins. Infotainment freezes, ECU reflash bulletins, intermittent CEL codes, and short-lived 12V battery drains on early cars (2017-2019) drove the Giulia's poor reliability scores. The 2.9L Quadrifoglio engine itself is strong but timing-chain-tensioner failures and oil-cooler leaks have been reported on hard-driven cars. Veloce/Ti owners report fewer issues post-2020 builds.
Full clubhouse — owner Garage Lineage, common problems, year-by-year notes, and product picks — is on the build list.
