Acura TL 4th Generation

2009–2014 · UA8/UA9 · sedan

The 4th-gen TL launched 2009 with the Power Plenum grille (universally referred to as the beak) and the debut of SH-AWD on the TL. J32A3 3.5L on base; J37A4 3.7L V6 making 305hp on SH-AWD. 5-speed automatic at launch; 6-speed automatic standard from 2010, 6-speed manual offered on SH-AWD trim 2010-2014. The 2012 refresh toned down the front-end styling. Final TL generation before the TLX replaced it.

Watch out: The styling controversy aside, the documented mechanical sore spots are minor by Honda standards. The 6-speed automatic on early cars had some torque-converter shudder complaints addressed by software updates; the manual SH-AWD cars are unusual and well-regarded but rare on the used market.
