Acura TL 3rd Generation

2004–2008 · UA6/UA7 · sedan

The 3rd-gen TL launched 2004 with the J32A3 3.2L V6 making 270hp, a 6-speed manual or 5-speed automatic, and front-wheel drive. The 2007 Type-S brought the J35A8 3.5L V6 making 286hp. Acura's best-selling model by 2004. The TL Type-S is the enthusiast pick of the lineup, with the 6-speed manual and limited-slip differential.

Watch out: 5-speed automatic on heavy-footed J32 cars is a long-known weak point with documented torque-converter failures and harsh shift complaints; ATF service with Honda ATF-Z1/DW-1 is the standard mitigation. Front tire wear is heavy thanks to the FWD layout and 270+hp.
