Acura RSX DC5

20022006 · DC5 · coupe

The RSX replaced the 3rd-gen Integra coupe in the US for 2002. Three-door liftback body, DC5 chassis. Base RSX used the K20A3 making 160hp. RSX Type-S used the K20A2 (2002-2004) making 200hp at 7400 rpm, then the K20Z1 (2005-2006) making 210hp with a redesigned intake manifold. Six-speed manual on Type-S, 5-speed manual or automatic on base. Discontinued after 2006 without a direct replacement until the modern Integra arrived 17 years later.

Watch out: K20A2 third-gear synchro wear on Type-S cars is the well-known transmission complaint. RSX Type-S theft risk and modification prevalence mean clean, original examples are rare and command real money on the used market. Check for the 2005+ K20Z1 intake manifold and shifter improvements if shopping Type-S.

Full clubhouse — owner Garage Lineage, common problems, year-by-year notes, and product picks — is on the build list.
