Acura RDX 2nd Generation

20132018 · TB3/TB4 · suv

The 2nd-gen RDX dropped the turbo four for a J35Z2 3.5L V6 making 273hp paired with a 6-speed automatic. SH-AWD was no longer offered; a simpler all-wheel-drive system replaced it, and FWD became standard. The 2016 refresh updated front and rear styling and added LED lighting. Volume sold dramatically increased over the 1st gen on the strength of the more conventional driveline.

Watch out: VCM on the J35Z2 brings the standard Honda cylinder-deactivation oil-consumption and shudder concerns; VCM disabler products are commonly installed by long-term owners. The 6-speed automatic has held up well in long-term reporting.
