Acura RDX 1st Generation
2007–2012 · TB1/TB2 · suv
The 1st-gen RDX launched 2007 as Acura's compact crossover with a turbocharged K23A1 2.3L i-VTEC making 240hp, a 5-speed automatic, and standard SH-AWD. The only turbocharged Honda/Acura SUV until the 3rd-gen RDX in 2019. Mid-cycle refresh for 2010. Front-wheel drive was not offered. Replaced by the V6-powered 2nd-gen RDX after 2012.
Watch out: K23A1 turbo on these cars demands premium fuel and frequent oil changes; turbo failures on neglected examples are documented. The 5-speed automatic with turbocharged torque can also show torque-converter fatigue. Cars with full service history and clean turbo and intercooler hardware are the ones worth buying.
Full clubhouse — owner Garage Lineage, common problems, year-by-year notes, and product picks — is on the build list.
