The 2nd-gen MDX brought SH-AWD to the MDX for the first time and upgraded to the J37A1 3.7L V6 making 300hp. 6-speed automatic. 2010 mid-cycle refresh updated the styling. Seven-passenger three-row seating. Tow rating up to 5,000 lb. The generation that locked the MDX into competition with the BMW X5 and Audi Q7 segment.

Watch out: Torque converter shudder under light load is the documented complaint and ATF service with Honda DW-1 fluid is the standard remedy. VCM (introduced mid-cycle) brings the cylinder-deactivation oil-consumption pattern shared with the Pilot and Odyssey of the same era.
