Acura Integra 3rd Generation (DC2)
1994–2001 · DC2/DB7/DB8/DC4 · coupe
The 3rd-gen Integra spanned 1994-2001 in the US. Coupe (DC2/DC4) and sedan (DB7/DB8) bodies, with the GS-R using the B18C1 1.8L i-VTEC (170hp) and the Integra Type R (1997-1998, 2000-2001) using the B18C5 making 195hp. The Type R remains one of the most-revered front-wheel-drive cars ever built. Hand-finished ports, lightweight aluminum hood, helical LSD, stiffer chassis, 8400-rpm redline. Manual transmission only on most enthusiast trims.
Watch out: Theft risk on Type R and GS-R examples is a real and ongoing concern; insurance is expensive and clean unmolested cars are now appreciating assets. B18C oil-pump bolt failure is the well-known mechanical fault on high-rpm-driven examples. Rust on northern-state cars at this age is a structural inspection item.
Full clubhouse — owner Garage Lineage, common problems, year-by-year notes, and product picks — is on the build list.
