Acura Integra 2nd Generation (DA/DB)

1990–1993 · DA5-DA9/DB1-DB2 · hatchback

The second-generation Integra ran from 1990 to 1993 in the US and is the car that put the nameplate on enthusiast maps. It dropped the pop-up headlights for fixed projector units and offered a 3-door liftback or 4-door sedan on Honda's front-wheel-drive compact platform. The big news was the GS-R, powered by the 1.7L B17A1 VTEC four, one of the first VTEC engines sold in America and a high-revving showcase of the technology. Lesser trims ran the 1.8L B18 non-VTEC four. This DA/DB-chassis car became a tuner and Honda-community favorite and is now a rising collectible.

Watch out: B-series swaps and modifications mean many survivors have been heavily modified, so verifying engine originality and the quality of past work matters more than on a stock car. As 30-plus-year-old vehicles, rust in the arches and rockers, tired suspension bushings, and worn interiors are common, and clean unmolested GS-R examples command a premium and are frequent theft targets.
