Acura ILX 1st Generation
2013–2022 · DE · sedan
The ILX launched 2013 as Acura's entry-level sedan, built on the 9th-gen Civic platform. Early lineup: R18Z 2.0L, K24Z7 2.4L (Civic Si engine, manual-only), and a 1.5L IMA hybrid (discontinued after 2014). From 2016 the K24W7 2.4L paired with an 8-speed dual-clutch became the only powertrain. Built initially in Greensburg, Indiana, later in Marysville, Ohio. Replaced by the 5th-gen Integra after 2022.
Watch out: Early 2013-2015 cars with the manual K24Z7 are the enthusiast pick but rare. The 8-speed DCT on 2016+ cars works well day-to-day but can feel hesitant in stop-and-go traffic. No defining mechanical fault pattern, but rear interior space is tight for the price class.
Full clubhouse — owner Garage Lineage, common problems, year-by-year notes, and product picks — is on the build list.
